VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

If you are interested in volunteering, please call 859-233-9999. Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Tour Program:
    The tour program offers volunteers a variety of opportunities to contribute to the visitor experience. Volunteers can help out once a week by guiding tours, staffing the Museum Store, or greeting visitors.
  • Garden:
    Plant, weed, water, and maintain the Buela C. Nunn Garden
  • Office:
    Organize KMPF general archives. Help gather and organize essential institutional documentation, records, and research.
  • Marketing:
    Design and distribute flyers and press releases for special events. Help create displays for public venues. Gather information, design, and edit newsletter. Help maintain website.
  • Special Events:
    Plan special events, including arranging for food, decorations, and in-kind donations for special events and receptions.
  • Grants:
    Assist Executive Director in researching and writing grant applications.
  • Educational Programming:
    Help design educational programs for elementary, middle school, and high school age groups following KERA standards. Includes bibliographies, worksheets, pre-visit activities, and post-visit activities. (Best suited for an education professional) Volunteer to do presentations at schools.

ABOUT THE HOUSE 

This two-story brick, late Georgian house with its stone water table and belt course was built in 1803-1806 as an inn by William Palmateer.
