National history Day 2018-2019
National History Day is a school year-long academic program focused on historical research, interpretation, and creative expression for 6th-12th-graders. Students select a topic and become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights, and artists as they create unique expressions of history. The experience culminates in a series of contests at the local, state, and national levels.
This year’s theme is “Triumph and Tragedy in History,” and the Mary Todd Lincoln House is encouraging students to do projects that explore Mary Lincoln. To help students conduct research, we have prepared a list of primary and secondary sources. We are also offering free admission during the month of November to students working on projects about Mary Lincoln.
