Sophisticated and well educated, Mary Todd Lincoln seemed poised for success as first lady. Yet, few women in American history are as controversial. Join our curator, Dr. Jonathan Coleman, as he explores some of the most hotly contested points of Mary Lincoln’s life and legacy and how we can use controversy to better understand history’s many complexities.

Free for members of the Mary Todd Lincoln House and the Frazier History Museum. Public admission is $12 per adult. Includes admission to the Frazier History Museum.
